Ski boot modification for boots that are too small
We see plenty of clients who were tempted by a great-looking boot on sale, and decided to squeeze into a size too small. A bargain is always irresistible, but if your ski boots are too small, they’ll cause your feet to squeeze into shape, causing crushed toes, unnatural arching, blisters and impacted circulation.
Depending on the size of your ski boot, we can modify them to make them a bit larger and more comfortable. However, if your ski boots are drastically smaller than your feet, we can’t stretch them drastically—you may be better off selling your boots and upsizing.
Ski boot modification for boots that are too big
If your ski boots are too big, your feet will slip and slide around in the boot as you ski. Going downhill, your toes will move forward and crush together. This often leads to calf problems as the muscle is forced to overcompensate for foot instability. After a day of skiing in boots that are too large, we guarantee you’ll be feeling worse for wear.
We can’t make your ski boots physically smaller but we may be able to recommend footbeds and liners to reduce friction—see us for a consultation and we’ll let you know what can be done. If one foot is fractionally bigger than the other we can punch out one boot to accommodate.
Modifications for ski boots that are too wide or narrow
We can adjust the width of your ski boot shell to accommodate your foot shape. If you have bunions or foot spurs we can punch the shell by heating it and pressing out specific problem areas. Many skiers have specific issues on one foot and not the other so we can customise your ski boot fitting towards your precise foot shape and condition. Comfortable bliss *sigh*.

Cold feet on the slopes?
If your feet are getting cold, especially your toes, it could be a sign of circulation problems with your ski boots. We can also advise you on heating devices like foot pads that keep your feet warm from within. If your ski boot is too loose, there’s a chance snow is getting in—your wet socks are a red flag. If so, we can adjust your boots to ensure a snug yet comfortable fit.
